Rollie Totheroh worked as cinematographer on Charles Chaplin's movies for over 30 years, right from the earliest shorts in 1915 to Monsieur Verdoux (1947), including all of Chaplin's masterpieces: The Kid (1921), The Gold Rush (1925), City Lights (1931), Modern Times (1936) and The Great Dictator (1940). Totheroh was the man with whom Chaplin had the longest working relationship, other than his brother Syd Chaplin.
